Rummy Withdrawal Fees and Deductions: Where Your Winnings Go

The amount you “win” on a rummy table and the amount that reaches your bank are rarely the same. These are the deductions to expect.

1. Platform fee (rake)

Each cash table keeps a share of the prize pool as its fee. The winner gets the pool minus that share. Over many games this fee is the main reason most players end up behind, even good ones.

2. Withdrawal charges

Some apps charge per withdrawal, or allow a few free withdrawals a month and charge after that. Taj Rummy, for example, publishes a fee after its free monthly withdrawals (operator page). Fewer, larger withdrawals reduce the cost.

3. Tax on net winnings

Apps may deduct tax from net winnings at the time of withdrawal and show it on the withdrawal screen. Ask the app for a statement if it doesn’t show a breakdown, and keep it for your records.

4. Bonus clawbacks

If you withdraw before meeting bonus conditions, some apps cancel the remaining bonus or the winnings made with it. Read the terms before your first payout.

5. Payment-route failures

A failed UPI or bank transfer is usually returned to the app wallet, not lost. Check your wallet history.

A simple illustration

Illustrative. A ₹500 win at a table with a 15% fee pays ₹425. A ₹10 withdrawal charge leaves ₹415. If tax is deducted on net winnings, the bank receives less again.

Frequently asked questions

Why did I get less than my withdrawal request?

Charges or tax may be deducted at payout. The withdrawal screen or transaction history should show the breakdown.

Is the platform fee charged when I lose?

Yes. The fee comes out of the pool every game, so all players pay it indirectly.

18+ only. Rules vary by state and may change; check whether it is allowed where you are.
